hello ppl ....i welcome you all to my 2nd post in my 1st blog...well enough with the pleasantries...today ill talk about some of the, simply put, shittiest, crappiest and the most stinking part of college life. CLASS TESTS...now well, you may think how is this connected with CAT....let me tell you before you jump to any conclusions...( a precaution worth taking as i know what you ppl would have started thinking...Ashwin will start saying dont let the cat out of the bag....pradeep will start saying dei we have to write CAT exam da.....and prabu will just take out his nailcutter and start whacking people left and right... Kadalai will make an exasperated face and say AYYO AYYO and praneet will just start making weird noises...)...so before all that happens, let me explain to you what cat is......
now there are various meanings to the word CAT....a Cat is a biological entity, a mammal belonging to the feline family....CAT also stands for the dreaded Common Admission Test (which i would be writing soon)....the third meaning for cat is the most interesting of them all...
A college down south, in the state of Tamil nadu in India, called SVCE( Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering) has come up with the best meaning of them all...for them and the poor students at the receiving end of it all...the CAT stands for Continuous Assessment Test...
i clearly remember the first time i came home and told my dad - "hey dad i got 27 in the first CAT"...and i clearly remember him saying-" Dont be a fool, you can only write the CAT in the 4th year of college"...and i was confused like hell....so we sat down for a round of discussion and it was a ice breaker of sorts....we blamed the system, we also blames the colleges, we blamed the helplessness of students, we blamed teachers, we blamed my marks, we blamed the VC....just about everyone we could remember of !..
well....after 3 and a half years of "quality" college education, i sometimes still fail the cat and have never ever managed to touch the 40/40 mark...guess that makes me a real student...the first rule of college life is to rebel....NEVER EVER GET A 40/40.....well it hardly matters....the one time "by accident" i managed to get a 39/40 i was ecstatic....sadly though the teacher still screwed me in my internals....i got a paltry 11/20 for my college end sem marks.
so personally, i have given up hope in the CAT...studying for 2 hours before the exam (sometimes lesser than that too) and becoming Sidney Sheldon or Jeffrey Archer for an hour ensures i scrape through...no pride in it but no harm too...people around me are a bit more concerned about it though...a gang of girls to my right would, if allowed, take the teacher on in a one on one battle of wits( and i suspect come out on top too) and fight for every single mark that the teacher didn't give them.... people to my left in class are of a mixed variety....pradeep says he doesn't study yet manages to get moe than almost everyone in class... ashwin has some fad with getting above 30(no offence but DUDE!)...prabu is happy with anything he gets and the once (now gone) King of CAT'S..gurubharan was content with any mark he got as long as it was more than psyche or gopi....man he was the DUDE....
well...enough of my rambling....by the way i fared real bad in the latest version of THE CAT....but still managed to scrape through...so did everyone else...so then....until next time
Hasta la Vista,
catch ya ppl later.....plz do leave comments!!

that post was a real 'bindaas'... of course i share your view of the CAT but, after three years of enduring the ordeal, you need to accept that it's worth something, after all, coz otherwise, you need to ask your self why the HOLY **** were you still writing it, when you knew it was a all a 'just for formality' crap... anyway as much as ksh says he gets less marks in CAT, he's one of the brightest guys in our class, thinking 'out of the bag'... but when it comes to academics, it takes all his willpower to refrain from giving the CATs and the professors a passionate middle finger...
