The Goan Files : Part 5 : The Rest of the Trip

Well, basically after the first night, the rest of the trip was inconsequential. There were still a few surprises some people sprang at the rest of us, but well, we weren't at fault and so we mainly enjoyed our time. The rest of the trip was devoted to real sight-seeing and roaming around Goa.

So the next day all of us went down and held a small meeting and finally decided to take Honda Activa's on rent. After successfully settling the money matters and having a scrambled breakfast, while some people were puking their guts out, we decided that we would first head to Calangute beach for water sports. Well the time was around 10 and it was a clear day with a pleasant breeze.

After playing cricket on the beach for a while, we decided that the ball was acting really naughty and that we should stop with everybody's best interests in mind. So we proceeded to settle the prices for the water sports with the people ( We have officially become the best Goa bargainers you can dream of!) So, after haggling with him and then finally threatening that we would go to some other guy instead , the guy agreed and told us to get ready.

We went for the Water scooter first , where everything went off fine until Arun bumped his nose somewhere, when the bugger controlling the scooter accelerated, and started bleeding. It was scary, but on washing his face we found that it was a decently sized cut below the noise. Arun was fit and raring to go for the next task and so we got ready for the banana ride.

The banana ride was indeed the best ride of all..For those people who don't know what the banana ride is, it is a banana shaped boat and the ride includes you sitting on the boat being dragged into the open sea and then tilting the boat over.. So well, after finally managing to sit on the boat successfully ( it kept toppling over like shit) we made it out to the open sea, where we got thrown off thrice...It was amazing fun....

The next event was Parasailing ( or i think that is what they call it...you having a parachute on your back and being dragged in air by a motor boat). Well, it wasn't much fun, but it was good nonetheless.

So , well after returning to the beach, and resolving some camera issues (:@), we returned to our bikes parked on the edge of the beach just to find that Gopal and Guruswamy had lost their keys. Returning to the resort, we saw that it was 5!! Praneet had finally woken up after his weakness (LOL) and somehow managed to catch a keymaker who took approximately 10 seconds to make a new key for Gopal and guru's bike. (Must have been the Matrix's keymaker :P SAD JOKE)

So well, in the evening we got ready again and then headed towards Baga beach for the first time. Baga is the most high class beach in Goa. it is thronged by foreigners and doesn't have much of sand and beach. it is mainly visited by people for the numerous beach shacks and discos nearby. It was already dark by the time we reached there and so we decided to take some psychedelic motion pics of the lights by shaking our cams. Then we decided to do something productive and played a kabaddi match which was simply awesome. I need to tell you all that Ela and Kicha are really the master of all sports. So rallying around these 2 captains both teams started a match with just around 8 players. The matches got interesting and soon we were about 16 strong. After finally exhausting ourselves and with Karthik displaying some inhuman reserves of strength to try and break free from 5 players who were holding him ( to no avail though), and when Karthik was literally thrown to the ground and he bumped his head, we finally decided to call it a day.

Well, the night was more interesting. Some of us headed down to Baga beach at night to try and enter some disc. Sadly stag entries were sky high and people were running short of cash, we decided that we needed to ask some girls. After fruitlessly searching for girls who were free we were approached by a man who said that his club was round the corner and he would let us in without gals. So well, we went with him and after seeing that his club was thronged only by firangi eunuchs we beat a hasty retreat and decided to go eat at some beach shack. Around 2 we ate at some place on the ebach and met "Degree"...who was a dog who had only 1 eye. No, he didn't lose the other eye in an accident or something, he was just born with one! There was skin over the other eye socket.

After sleeping fitfully till about 8, we all got ready to go and visit the real Goa. So we all started on our bikes to go to Fort Aguada...What a sight it was...around 15 bikes travelling in a line. It looked and felt amazing. So after taking some sensational pics at Fort Aguada we went around some famous beaches of Goa and finally to Anjuna and then on to Baga beach again.. By that time we were tired but still decided to play a game of football, in which Krishnamurthy got mortally injured and couldn't get up for half an hour (:D), and then hit the water. We finally made it back to the hotel and some of us went to Dominos for a real dinner. After another drinking binge, and another night walk down the beach we headed back to the hotel and turned in for the night.

The next day , the hotel asked for all the rooms back, so we all moved in to 1 room with all our baggage and headed out to eat. The afternoon saw us doing minor shopping and then playing a game of cricket before finally getting on to the bus ans going to the station in Vasco. After doing some minor shopping there too, and resolving some alcohol permit issues we were finally on our way to Bangalore. the next morning saw us at Bangalore where we played some station football/volleyball waiting for the train. Another train journey and we were back home!

I agree it felt bad to be back and in a way sad too. But then, that's life. And this was a trip i will NEVER forget.

here are some pics to keep you guys interested....Till our next trip....

P.S: blingy, collect some remuneration from the goa tourism development da... they couldn't have better advertisement...

Why'd you rush through it dude? It's good, but I get the feeling it would've been much better had you described each day's events in their brilliance. :P
